'Ambitious' Rio 2016 Plans to Recruit 224 More Staff by July, with 72 Jobs Available Now |

Olympics - 18 Dec 2012 - Rio 2016, the organising committee for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, has described its own hiring plans as "ambitious," after it said that it expects its head count to increase by 60 per cent (224 people) by July 2013.
Rio 2016 said: “There are openings in the Architecture, Commercial, Communications, Engineering, Sports, Finances, Journalism, Juridical, Licensing, Logistics, Marketing, Projects, Human Resources, Medical Services, Procurement, Sustainability, Technology and Transport areas. Henrique Gonzalez, Rio 2016’s human resources director, added: “Preparing the Olympic Games requires work in many different areas. At the moment, there are 72 job openings on the Games website and, at the turn of the year, another 90 will be available once we move to our new headquarters in the central region of the city.”
Rio 2016 said that it presently has 371 employees, a 61-per-cent increase compared to the end of 2011. It expects to employ about 4,000 staff at the time of the games.
