Eurosport, the pan-European sports broadcaster, is to televise this year's Archery World Cup and World Archery Championships after agreeing a rights deal with World Archery, the sport's governing body.
Highlights of all the four World Cup stages will be broadcast on the Eurosport and Eurosport 2 channels. Stage 1 of the World Cup takes place this week in Shanghai, China, and will be broadcast on June 5 and 6.
Stages 2, 3 and 4 of the Archery World Cup will be held in Antalya, Turkey (June 10-16), Medellin, Colombia (July 15-21) and Wroclaw, Poland (August 19-15), respectively.
Live coverage of the Archery World Cup Final in Paris, on September 21 and 22, and the World Archery Championships in Antalya, Turkey, between September 20 and October 6, will be available on Eurosport 2.
Tom Dielen, World Archery’s secretary general, said: "We are thrilled to be back on Eurosport, one of the main sports channels in Europe and a channel that has supported the Olympic Games for a long time. We are confident that Eurosport will offer us a platform in which archery can continue to grow.
"I also would like to thank our sponsors that have generously supported us to expand the sport of archery to where it is currently: an important, established Olympic sport that deserves a place on a premier sports channel, such as Eurosport."
In addition to the live and highlights programming, Eurosport will run an "extensive communication plan" to showcase archery and World Archery's major sponsors, such as Kia Motors and Longines, on its television, online and mobile platforms throughout 2013.
Olivier Fisch, Eurosport commercial director, said: "Following our positive experience with how archery was enjoyed by our viewers during the London 2012 Olympics, we are pleased to be able to bring new archery programming onto Eurosport this summer. Eurosport can offer sports not only great exposure via television but also across our multi-media platform.
"Live action from the heart of Paris from the Archery World Cup final promises to be a very special televised event for new and existing fans."
