The 2014 Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships will now take place on the outskirts of Paris, the FFG, the French gymnastics federation, has announced.
The biennial event was awarded to France two syear ago, when the FFG said Publier, in the south east of the country, would play host.
However, the FIG, gymnastics' world governing body, and the FFG said today that the Palais des Sport Marcel Cedan of Levallois will instead stage the Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships (July 2 to 5) and the World Age Group Competitions (July 10 to 12) in 2014.
No reason was given for the change in host cities, and neither FIG nor the FFG could be contacted today to explain the switch.
The Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships were last held in France in 2004, in Lievin. Lake Buena Vista in Florida, USA hosted the last edition in 2012.
