Belo Horizonte in Brazil has been named as the host for this year’s FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship.
The city in the state of Minas Gerais takes over from nearby Betim, which staged last year’s showpiece.
The competition will take place at the Mineirinho Arena, the home of the Sada Cruzeiro club and the biggest volleyball venue in Brazil, with a capacity of 18,000.
The event has been brought forward by a day and will now take place from May 5 to 10.
So far three teams have qualified for the Club World Championship. They are Sada Cruzeiro, the winners of the South American Men’s Club Championship, Argentina’s UPCN, the runners-up in the same competition, and Russia’s Belogorie Belgorod, who won Europe’s CEV DenizBank Volleyball Champions League for men in Ankara, Turkey on Sunday.Sportcal
