Saalfelden-Leogang in Austria will again host mountain bike’s UCI 4X World Championships, the top event in the cycling discipline of four-cross or mountain cross.
The event will take place on 13-14 June in parallel with the sixth round of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup on 14-15 June.
Saalfelden-Leogang hosted the 2013 event, the first time the 4X World Championships were held separately from the other mountain bike disciplines, and organisers Leogang Event, Kornel Grundner and his team will again be responsible for delivery.
The same group worked on the hosting of the 2012 UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships and several rounds of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
Mountain cross involves four riders competing against each other on a special-designed course featuring bumps and jumps.
This year’s UCI MTB Marathon World Championships take place in Pietermaritzburg in South Africa on June 29 and will be followed by the UCI Mountain Bike and Trials World Championships for the other mountain bike disciplines (XCO, XCE and DHI) in Hafjell, Norway on 2-7 September.
