Intersport, the global sports retail chain, has been unveiled as the title partner for badminton’s European Championships in Kazan, Russia this year.
Badminton Europe’s showpiece event takes place on 23-27 April.
The federation said the deal will help Intersport solidify its presence in markets such as Russia, USA, Malaysia, China, Denmark, Spain and Singapore, as the championships will reach over 110 million homes worldwide, with 6,000 minutes of television airtime.
Intersport has over 40 years of experience in sports retail and now has an annual turnover of €40.2 billion ($55.6 million) and a presence of 5,400 outlets in 43 countries.
In other developments, Badminton Europe has announced that this year's European Senior Championships will be held in Caldas de Rainha in Portugal on 21-27 September. Sportcal
