FloSports adds US ranking series and global beach rights to UWW association

FloSports, the USA-based live OTT subscription sports service, has signed a two-year live streaming rights deal with United World Wrestling, the sport's governing body.

The contract covers 12 Ranking Series events in 2019, and the Beach Wrestling Championships and its qualifiers.

All events will be available in USA on

The Ranking Series agreement only covers USA, but FloSports has acquired the exclusive, worldwide rights for the Beach Wrestling Championships.

It will stream the three qualifying events from Lisbon (Portugal), Buzios (Brazil) and an as yet unknown location, leading up to September's championships in Croatia.

Gordon Templeman, director of commercial operations at UWW, said: “United World Wrestling is excited to partner with FloSports in providing promotion and coverage of our Ranking Series events. Our sport is fortunate to have a passionate fan base and we believe FloSports will excel in connecting these ranking series and Beach Wrestling Championships to our core audience.”

Adam Fenn, senior vice-president of global rights acquisition and strategy, said: “We’re thrilled to combine our efforts with UWW to grow the coverage and popularity of wrestling. As the world’s leading wrestling media company, we aim to increase exposure for the world’s top athletes leading into the World Championships, and we’re thrilled to introduce beach wrestling to US fans.”

The Ranking Series was launched last year as part of UWW's ongoing effort to create a season-long event structure. In addition to a year-end cash prize for the highest point gatherer in each style, ranking points determine a wrestler’s seed at the world championships and Olympic Games.

FloSports has been a partner of UWW since early 2016, when the two launched a new streaming service ahead of the Pan American Continental Championships and the region's Rio 2016 Olympics qualifier.

The action was streamed live on, with the site powered by FloSports' dedicated FloWrestling digital media service, and the action available to FloWrestling subscribers.

Last August, FloSports and UWW agreed a multi-year deal for the World Grappling Championships.
