Huelva, a city in south-west Spain, has been named as the host of the 2021 Badminton World Championships.
The announcement was made by FESBA, the Spanish badminton federation, on Tuesday. Huelva staged last year's European Championships.
Spain was granted hosting rights to the 2021 World Championships last November when the Badminton World Federation awarded 18 events to 11 member associations across four continents.
FESBA will work alongside the Andalusian Federation of Badminton to establish an event organising committee, which will have around two years to prepare and plan for the World Championships.
The tournament was held in Nanjing in China in 2018, and this year's event will take place in Basel in Switzerland in August. There will be a gap in 2020 because of the Tokyo Olympic Games.
At the same time it was allocated the 2021 World Championships, Spain was also awarded the 2021 Senior World Championships and the 2022 Junior World Championships, but no host cities have been announced for the other two events.
