IAAF World Championships to be live-streamed in over 140 territories

This month’s World Athletics Championships are to be live-streamed to an international audience in several major territories, the IAAF, athletics’ international governing body, has announced.

A live stream of the championships, which is taking place at the London Stadium (formerly the English capital's Olympic Stadium) from 4 to 13 August, will be available daily on the IAAF’s YouTube and Facebook pages in 142 countries.

Nations with access to the stream include China, Jamaica, Nigeria, South Africa and Kenya

The full list of countries that can watch the live streaming can be found here. There is geo-blocking in nations with important television rights deals.

The World Athletics Championships are the latest event to be live-streamed by the IAAF on an international basis.

Earlier this year, the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas and the World Under-18 Championships in Nairobi were shown on the IAAF’s social media platforms.
