Longines, the Swiss watch brand, has extended its long-running sponsorship of World Archery, the sport's governing body.
Longines has been the official timing and scoring partner for the Hyundai Archery World Cup and World Archery Championship since 2008. Neither party announced the duration of the new contract.
It also sponsors the Longines Prize of Precision, a trophy awarded to “the most precise-shooting man and woman during the World Cup season.”
World Archery president Ugur Erdener said: “Longines and World Archery share the pursuit of perfection, the former in timekeeping and the latter in precision sports. We are happy to continue this valuable partnership for timing at our tournaments and look forward to awarding elegant Longines timepieces to more of our world-class athletes.”
Longines is one of four official World Archery partners, along with Hyundai, Sportoto and Errea, which came on board at the turn of the year in place of fellow Italian sportswear brand Fila.
