FINA, the governing body for aquatics, has landed another Chinese firm to be the title sponsor of its Diving World Series, signing off a four-year deal with China National Sport Group, a state-owned organisation.
The deal, which runs to 2021, was announced today, as the 2018 series got under way in Beijing.
CNSG, whose business scope covers sports venue construction and management, event organisation, sport lottery services and sports investment management, replaces NVC Lighting, the Chinese lighting manufacturer, whose four-year title sponsorship deal with FINA ended in 2017.
FINA executive director Cornel Marculescu said: "FINA is very excited to sign with CNSG for FINA's most prestigious annual diving rendezvous and I have no doubt that this partnership will further enhance diving visibility in China - the powerhouse of the discipline for many years now. Given CNSG's experience within the sports industry, it is an ideal and trusted partner for FINA."
Zhang Lizeng, CNSG chairman, added: "Definitely, CNSG will gain brand promotion and exposure as title sponsor of the FINA Diving World Series. We hope to further develop diving as a sport and consolidate cooperation with FINA at a higher level in the future. CNSG is looking forward to be recognised by more people and offering services for more sports venues as well as events across the world."
Other events on the FINA/CNSG Diving World Series will take place in Fuji (Japan), Montreal (Canada) and Kazan (Russia).
