Ingmar De Vos, President of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) and President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), has been elected as a member of the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the 145th IOC Session, held in Milan, Italy, on 4 February 2026.

The Session is taking place just days ahead of the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games, which will officially open on 6 February. An IOC Member since 2017, the ASOIF President was elected by the IOC membership for a four-year term. He succeeds Nenad Lalović, whose term has concluded, as the representative of the Summer Olympic International Federations on the IOC Executive Board.

The IOC Executive Board is responsible for overseeing the management of the organisation and implementing decisions taken by the IOC Session. Established in 1921, it is composed of the IOC President, four Vice-Presidents and 10 members elected by the IOC Session.

“Today’s election to the IOC Executive Board is a great honour,” said Ingmar De Vos. “I am deeply humbled by the result and would like to express my sincere gratitude to my fellow IOC Members, alongside whom I have had the privilege of working for nearly a decade. This new role also carries significant responsibility at a time when the Olympic Movement is undergoing a profound review ‘Fit for the Future’ initiated by President Kirsty Coventry.

“During my mandate, I am committed to contributing to the future success of the Olympic Games, the IOC and the Olympic Family. As ASOIF President, I will do this with special attention for the role of the International Federations in the Olympic Movement. Together, we must continue to enhance the popularity, appeal, and long-term sustainability of the Olympic Games.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to my predecessor on the IOC Executive Board, Nenad Lalović, and to thank him for his unwavering support, wise counsel, and valued friendship.”

Ingmar De Vos will assume his new role as a member of the IOC Executive Board on 22 February, following the conclusion of the 145th IOC Session.

Background information

Ingmar De Vos was elected ASOIF President at the 48th ASOIF General Assembly in April 2024 and officially commenced his four-year mandate on 1 January 2025.

He has served as President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) since 2014 and was re-elected for a second term in 2018 and for a third and final term in 2022. An IOC Member since 2017, he serves on the IOC Coordination Commissions for LA28 and Brisbane 2032, as well as the Future Host Commission, the Legal Affairs Commission, the Gender Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Commission, and the Revenues and Commercial Partnerships Commission.
