Next week, the 50th General Assembly of the Association of Summer Olympic International Federations (ASOIF) will take place on 27 May 2026 in Lausanne, Switzerland. 

This year’s gathering of ASOIF’s members will be opened by ASOIF President Ingmar De Vos, followed by opening remarks from the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), Kirsty Coventry.

The agenda will feature a detailed report about the new ASOIF Strategy 2026-2032, its implementation plan as well as ASOIF’s refreshed brand identity launched in April. The new brand identity underscores ASOIF’s commitment to supporting its members and reinforcing its role within the Olympic Movement as it enters the next phase of its strategic development.

IF governance remains a priority and the General Assembly will be updated on the Sixth Review of International Federation Governance, with the outcomes to be published in June. All 36 Full and Associate members of ASOIF participated in this edition.

Alongside financial reports, ASOIF members will also receive in-person reports from the IOC, the Olympic Games Organising Committees for Los Angeles 2028 and Brisbane 2032, the Dakar 2026 Organising Committee for the Youth Olympic Games, the World Anti-Doping Agency and the International Testing Agency.

Taking place from 31 October to 13 November 2026, the Dakar 2026 YOG will be the next Olympic sports event and the first one to take place on African soil.
